About us
History
Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, novoMOF was created to bring the potential of Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) from the lab to industrial reality. Today, our headquarters and production facilities are located at the Siegfried AG site, where our expertise is centered on state-of-the-art manufacturing of high-purity MOFs tailored for industrial deployment. Over the years, our goal has been enabling solutions to global challenges such as carbon capture, water scarcity, and food waste management.
Our innovation has been widely recognized, with accolades including the Innosuisse Startup Innovation Project 2025–2027, Deep Tech Pioneer 2023 by Hello Tomorrow, Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe (Manufacturing & Industry) 2020, and finalist positions for the Swiss Technology Award 2016 and >>venture>> TOP1 Business Idea 2016.
Following a successful financing round in 2025, we are accelerating the deployment of our CO₂ capture MOFs across industries, leveraging our proprietary materials to enable cost-efficient, compact, and sustainable capture systems. At the same time, we continue to push the boundaries of MOF technology to address the next generation of global challenges.
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to unlock the power of MOFs to solve pressing environmental and industrial challenges — starting with cost-efficient, compact, and sustainable CO₂ capture.
We envision a future where MOFs are embedded across industries, enabling breakthroughs in resource efficiency, clean energy, and sustainable manufacturing. While scaling the deployment of our CO₂ capture MOFs today, we are also driving innovation to bring next-generation MOF solutions to new markets, addressing emerging global needs.
